On Mount Seymour near Deep Cove.
We made the three hour drive up past Whistler, past the Pemberton Music Festival and up a long switchback road to Joffre Lake Provincial Park early one morning. It rained on the drive up and at the beginning of our 5.5 km route to Upper Joffre Lake – a meagre 400m elevation gain! By the time we had passed the second of the three stunning lakes, the sun was trying to break through and match their shocking beauty. We stopped at the camp ground below the impressive Maltier Glacier to eat lunch while hoping the wind held mosquitoes at bay….
